Earth Day Poem

For sunny yellow daffodils and
hibiscus lining each
road that crisscrosses the tired grass which
gets a whitewall haircut
high and tight on the sides. So green
does this prison grow
Siberian iris, Moses in the Basket, & Royal Poinciana.
Even under these chains
Sunflowers grow higher than this razor wire.
