WE REMEMBER YOU

In 1778 You fought at Valley Forge

Amid the smoke of belching black powder

Standing up for our Independence against Redcoats

Your brave sacrifice gave us power

In 1812 You served Us again

Now the battle would be called maritime

Cannonade eruptions , sinking ships

The cost of our victory was the end of Your lifeline

In 1814 You faced the French in New Orleans

Though You were far from home and hearth

Anywhere Your Nation was threatened

Was a place that was close to Your heart

In 1836 Sam Houston cried

Remember the Alamo

You stayed to defend the Mission

Impossible odds couldn't make you go

In 1898 Remember the Maine

Was the cry upon our lips

The people mourned Your early death

Serving on that tragic ship

In 1914 You fought the Kaiser

Austria and Hungary too

So many young men never came home

We promise not to forget you

1942 we called you again

You came as soon as You heard the call

The safeguard of Democracy upheld

Tyranny lost because You gave all

Korea , Vietnam , Serbia , Bosnia

You've shown the world an honorable face

Afghanistan , Iraq , everywhere

The American Service Man has died in our place

We owe You our whole Country

Please allow us to say

You've purchased our freedom with Your life

EVERYDAY IS YOUR MEMORIAL DAY
