ALEXA KLEIN

DIRECTOR

Alexa Klein is a dynamic and accomplished attorney who practices civil litigation and criminal defense in state and federal courts. She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2017. While in law school, Alexa was elected to the Order of the Coif, a prestigious national honor society recognizing academic excellence in legal education. 

Alexa served as a judicial law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge William Matthewman in the Southern District of Florida after graduating, where she managed half of Judge Matthewman’s civil and criminal docket. After clerking, Alexa was an associate attorney at Greenberg Traurig, where she focused on commercial litigation and products liability cases.  

In 2022, Alexa joined Black Srebnick, the law firm founded by legendary defense attorneys Roy Black and Howard Srebnick, where she represents clients in civil and criminal cases in Florida and across the country. She has firsthand experience advocating for those impacted by the criminal justice system, giving her deep insight into the importance of rehabilitation and second chances.

Alexa joined the Exchange for Change Board in 2025. As a member of the Board, Alexa is deeply committed to expanding access to education within Florida’s correctional system. She believes that learning is a powerful tool for personal growth, rehabilitation, and successful reentry, and she is proud to support the organization’s mission of bringing high-quality educational opportunities to incarcerated individuals.
