outreach

As an organization, the main pillar of our mission is to get the voices of the incarcerated out into the community. We often partner with local organizations and participate in community events to do just that.

We also frequently publish our students’ work in our literary journal, Don’t Shake the Spoon. More recently, we published Hear Us: Writing from the Inside During the Time of COVID, featuring incarcerated writers across the nation.

Most recently, we have partnered with the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice to offer one-time Prison Visits to any community member over 18. Interested? Click here to join us for a visit!
